For some people, snow can bring peace, happiness and joy. For others, it brings the opposite. If you have lived with snow your whole life, it may not even faze you going 40 mph down an icy road. If you ski, you look forward to a fresh layer of powder in the morning. But what if you have never grown up with snow, or don’t do any snow activities such as skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, or sledding? It might be best for you to get up and go during the month of December.
Where to travel in December can vary depending on your interests. Here are some places you can schedule for the month of December to take time off and enjoy the sun during dark, cold December days.
Celebrity Cruises and Royal Caribbean International both visit ports in Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, Ecuador, Peru and Colombia. Christmas cruises are also offered via the Royal Caribbean line.
Carnival Cruise Lines, Holland America, and Disney Cruise Lines all offer exceptional Caribbean cruises. Princess Cruises offer a seven-night Christmas trip aboard the “Grand Princess” that visits Aruba, Princess Cays, and Curacao. Other cruise destinations include Cozumel, Grand Cayman, Belize City, Mexico, and Honduras.
Crystal Cruises and Norwegian Cruise Line offer an itinerary at sea for Christmas and visits to Maui, Hawaii, Oahu, and Kauai. Cruises vary in length from seven to 14 days.
Carnival Cruise Lines offers eight December cruise itineraries to Mexico which range from two to nine nights. This line sails Baja, Mexico, and the Mexican Riviera. They visit Cabo San Lucas, Ensenada, Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan, and La Paz and is a great warm place where to travel in December.
Norwegian Cruise Line is offering two Mediterranean cruises in December. Each cruise departs from Rome and travels to countries such as Egypt, Turkey, Greece, Israel, and Cyprus.

From Dec. 15th to January 31st, Rann Utsav is a festival celebrated in The Kutch. Kutch is the habitat of the endangered and interesting wildlife species like the Indian wild ass. This region is known as a paradise for birdwatchers and family tours. The district has a long history, and has many crafts and traditions that are celebrated during Rann Utsav.

Junkanoo Festival 2012 in Nassau, The Bahamas
Donning vibrant costumes, thousands will be dancing through the streets of Nassau, Bahamas on the morning of Dec. 26th. The festival is the Bahamian equivalent of Mardi Gras and the costumes can be spotted from miles away. The Junkanoo Festival is a celebration of freedom from slavery and is named after 17th-Century African slave trader John Canoe.
Sunburn Festival 2012 in Candolim Beach, Goa

Sunburn is an electronic dance music festival featuring some of the best entertainment, food, and shopping India has to offer.
