Our two CitizenSecure® policies are designed for the different budget needs of both US and non-US citizens living outside of their home country. To help you review some general differences between the two plans, we have put together this summary chart. This is a scheduled benefit plan, offering specific benefit amounts for specific services.

Are pre-existing conditions covered? YES
You will need to include any pre-existing condition on your application. So long as it is disclosed on the application and not excluded or restricted when underwritten, it will be covered like any other illness or injury.

You will need to include any pre-existing condition on your application. So long as it is not excluded or restricted when underwritten, it will be covered after you have had the policy for 24 months, up to $5,000.

Should you have an unexpected recurrence of a previous condition during the first 12 months you have your policy, your condition will be covered up to $1,000.

If the recurrence occurs after your first year, but before 24 months, it will be covered up to $2,500.

Is maternity covered? YES
After you have had your policy for 12 months, the plan will cover the first $100,000 of maternity expenses, which are covered at 50%. After that point, the plan will cover 100% up to a maximum of $250,000.

After you have had your policy for 12 months, the plan will cover up to a maximum of $5,000 in maternity expenses, per pregnancy.
Are wellness benefits covered? YES
After you have kept your policy continuously for 12 months, those members who are under 19 or over the age of 30 are entitled to a wellness benefit of $250 per year.

Wellness benefits are not subject to your policy’s deductible.

After you have kept your policy continuously for 12 months, those members who are under 19 or over the age of 30 are entitled to a wellness benefit of $50 per visit (maximum of three visits per year).

After having your policy for 24 months, those members who are 19 years of age or over are entitled to a wellness benefit of $250 per year, which includes $70 for an office visit and $180 for x-ray and laboratory.

You can choose either $250, $500, $1,000, $2,500 or $5,000 as your deductible.

There is a maximum of three deductibles per family.

Are there other out-of-pocket expenses? MAYBE
It is a possibility that even after you have satisfied your policy’s deductible you will have additional out-of-pocket expenses you will be responsible for.

After you have paid your deductible, the policy will pay 80% of the first $5,000 in medical expenses that were incurred inside the US or Canada. You will be responsible for the remaining 20% of those expenses (called your coinsurance). You can avoid paying this coinsurance if you choose to use an in-network provider that submits the bill directly to us on your behalf.

HOWEVER
After you have satisfied your policy’s deductible, the plan will cover 100% of eligible expenses that occur outside the US or Canada.

Is there a maximum coverage amount? YES
There is a $5,000,000 maximum for the lifetime of your policy.
Can this policy be renewed? YES
As long as eligibility is maintained, both of our CitizenSecure® plans are annually renewable.
Are there optional benefits available? YES
Both of our plans come with optional benefits that can be added based on your needs.
  • Sports Rider: Adds coverage for a number of extreme or thrill-seeking activities otherwise excluded by your plan
  • Dental Rider: Offers preventive, basic, and major dental coverage in most countries of the world
  • Term Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment: Provides additional financial protection for individuals located outside of the United States.1
