At most facilities that offer dolphin encounters, the same sorts of activities make up an experience:
Dolphin Swim Activities
- Swirl - the dolphins swim in a large circle around all of the participants.
- Kiss - a dolphin will pose with its nose on the cheek of a swimmer.
- Hug - the dolphin will be upright in the water and hug a swimmer with its pectoral fins.
- Footpush - two dolphins will push the swimmer from his or her feet.
- Jump - much like in a show, the dolphins will jump out of the water and do tricks.
- Dance - the dolphins move in beat to music while swimmers hold their pectoral fins.
- Sing - the dolphins are able to make noises in chorus and on cue.
- Signal - you, as the swimmer, will be taught some basic hand signals that will allow you to interact with the dolphins.
