You check the carabiners one last time. Chalk your hands up. Look up at the monster of a mountain that is before you. You tell yourself, “You can do this.” A confident calm takes over your motions, and you find your first hand grips. And then you place your feet. And you keep going. Every reach, every leg boost, gets you one more step closer to the top. The limit. The spot you have been aiming for. You know that when you stand at the summit and take in the view, it will all be worth it.

Maybe your climbing experience is not quite that intense, but insurance is still a good idea. Did you know that your domestic medical insurance most likely will not follow you abroad? That means on your upcoming trip, you might be without insurance in the event of a rock climbing accident. But, do not worry! HCC Medical Insurance Services (HCCMIS) offers Atlas Travel® Insurance that covers rock climbing accidents.

Competitors charge 15% more for sports injuries, but Atlas Travel covers them without adding cost!

While many insurance companies charge extra to cover extreme sports, Atlas Travel insurance includes coverage for rock climbing injuries that occur while abroad at no additional charge. We offer several different Atlas Travel plans depending on your destination for rock climbing and how many are in your group. Atlas America® is designed for those whose travel includes the U.S. or Canada. If you are traveling outside of the U.S., we have Atlas International® insurance. Traveling with a group? If you have 5 or more in your group, you should check out Atlas Group® for a discounted rate!

  • Sport Climbing- this form uses bolts or permanent anchors attached to the wall.
  • Bouldering- involves short and low routes in which safety ropes are not used.
  • Free Soloing- a single person climb that does not involve the use of any rope or protection at all.
  • Indoor Climbing- used to practice climb, and allows climbers to climb in all types of weather.
  • Deep Water Soloing- free soloing over water as protection.
