While you work on your plan to become a volunteer study abroad, you will need to make sure you have international student insurance to cover your medical expenses. HCC Medical Insurance Services (HCCMIS) offers three insurance plans to fit most budgets. StudentSecure® Select, StudentSecure® Budget, and StudentSecure® Smart offer many valuable benefits for those considering becoming an international volunteer student.

One option that many students tend to overlook when it comes to international study is volunteering abroad. By volunteering, students can earn credit, add to their resume, help make a difference in the world, and improve their foreign language skills. Students tend to only think of government programs, and don’t realize there are many options to do similar work while they are still in school. There are many summer programs, others take place during the academic year, and most offer college credit.
