Where to Travel in February

The winter months provide great opportunities for you to travel all over the world. Because traditional summer vacation spots are not overly crowded, you can enjoy the beach with far fewer people. However, February is also a great time to go check out those places that get a lot of snow, sit by the fire, and ski. Traveling in February is often much cheaper than flying during peak times of the year, like over holidays or during the summer months. If you are thinking about traveling in February or are starting to plan a trip for February, then be sure you check out these great places on where to travel in February:

Jackson Hole, Wyoming

When talking about the best places to go skiing, it is near impossible to not mention Jackson Hole, Wyoming. If you are looking for great slopes, nice resorts, and the possibility of spotting a celebrity (or two) then Jackson Hole is the place for you. There are great places to ski for those of a high skill level and of a more beginning nature, but if you do not seek the adventure of skiing, then you might want to try somewhere else.

Vail, Colorado

Another big one on the “best places to ski” list, Vail provides some of the greatest skiing in the States. If you want to avoid crowds when you go skiing, this may not be the best place for you to go. However, Vail does offer some of the best terrain for skiing in Colorado. One of the best things about Vail though is the incredible diversity it offers, which means you are likely to find some freshly groomed slopes and some slopes are in dire need of grooming. Just be sure as you wait in line for that ski lift you are enjoying the breathtaking views around you.

Key West, Florida

If you are looking for a warmer winter getaway that is slightly off the beaten path, then be sure you check out Key West at the very southern tip of Florida. If you enjoy history and seeing history told in architectural form, then Old Town is a great spot to rent a bike and go for a relaxing ride. The average temperature in February is 75.9 degrees Fahrenheit and February falls within the dry season, so you can expect little to no rain. There are also several beaches in which you can soak up some sun and enjoy the cool waters of Gulf of Mexico.

Beaches, forests, mountains, and volcanoes all make up the geography of this amazing Pacific island chain. If you are looking for surfing, horseback riding, hiking, or just want to relax on the beach, then Hawaii is a great place for you. Full of adventure, relaxation, and everything in between, you will surely find whatever you are looking for. Be prepared to fight off some crowds in places like Maui and Honolulu. However places like Kona and remote beaches can provide you with some great quiet and seclusion, if that is what you are looking for.

Alpine Mountains

More commonly known as the Swiss Alps, the Alpine Mountains can be accessed in Switzerland, France, Germany, Italy, and Austria. The Alps provide for some great skiing and there are plenty of resorts to choose from. You will be able to find slopes for experts all the way to beginners. If you take your time in planning, you will also be able to find slopes that not everyone knows about. The best part about the resorts in Europe is that they provide you with many activities, great food, amazing views, and some high-class luxury.

Sedona, Arizona

For those looking for a dry winter, but away from the beaches, then Sedona, Arizona is a great place for you to vacation in February. The winters are mild compared to other places in the US, but you can expect the nights to get a little chilly. Sedona is located in the Upper Sonoran Dessert, which provides some great hiking opportunities and great viewing areas of the rock formations around the area. Be sure you check out Devil’s Bridge and Cathedral Rock.
